More about Patek Philippe 5055R Moon Phase Power Reserve Salmon Dial 18K Rose Gold

This is an 18K rose gold Patek Philippe Power Reserve Moonphase 5055R. It has an alligator leather strap with a matching 18K rose gold tang buckle, a scratch resistant sapphire crystal, and a screwed-down exhibition sapphire crystal case back. The 36mm diameter solid two-body case, sloped bezel, and straight lapidated lugs are polished/brushed. The dial is salmon with applied rose gold radial Arabic numerals, luminous rose gold baton hands, an outer railway-style minute chapter ring, and square index markers. There is an off-center moon phase surrounded by the days of the month between 6 and 8 o'clock, a fan-shaped up-and-down power reserve indicator between 10 and 11 o'clock, and a subsidiary constant small seconds dial between 4 and 5 o'clock. It's water resistant to 25 meters/80 feet, and the 9mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This Patek Philippe Power Reserve Moonphase 5055R has a mechanical automatic self-winding Patek Philippe caliber 240/164 movement. It's rhodium plated with fausses cotes embellishment, and it has the quality stamp of the Seal of Geneva. It's constructed with 29 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and the patented Patek Gyromax balance adjusted for cold, heat, isochronism, and 5 positions. It has a shock absorber a self-compensating free-sprung flat balance spring, and a 22K yellow gold micro-rotor. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz).

Patek Philippe introduced their first moon phase complication in 1927. Patek Philippe Power Reserve Moonphase 5055R was first produced in 1998.
