More about Calatrava Automatic 5120G 18K White Gold
This is an 18K white gold Patek Philippe Calatrava 5120G-001. It has an alligator leather strap with a matching 18K white gold buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The 35mm diameter solid round two-body case, curved lugs, and stepped double hobnail Clous de Paris bezel, are polished. The dial is white with black painted radial Roman Numerals and bâton blued steel hands. It has a screwed-down sapphire crystal display case back. It's water resistant to 30 meters, it has a minimum power reserve of 48 hours, and the 6.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Patek Philippe Calatrava 5120G-001 ultra-thin has a mechanical automatic self-winding caliber 240 PS movement that's rhodium-plated with fausses côtes embellishment, and it's stamped with the Seal of Geneva Quality hallmark. It's constructed with 27 jewels, 161 parts, and a lever escapement; it has the patented Patek Philippe Gyromax balance that compensates for cold, heat, isochronism, and 5 positions. Included are a shock-absorber mechanism, a self-compensating free-sprung balance-spring, a 22K gold off-center micro-rotor mounted on ball bearings and the mechanism oscillates at 21,600 vph (3 Hz). This Patek Philippe Calatrava 5120G-001 was introduced in the 2000's. The first Calatrava designs appeared in 1932, when the new owners of Patek Philippe – the Stern brothers – launched the line as their flagship collection. Some of the most popular early designs were hobnail bezels that look like the edges of a huge, polished, fine coin.
