More about Gondolo 18K White Gold Blue Dial Manual Wind
This is an 18K white gold Patek Philippe Gondolo, 5124G-011. It has a leather strap with a matching 18k white gold buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The 33mm by 43mm tonneau-shaped solid two-body rectangular case and stepped art deco-style case and bezel are polished. There is a transparent sapphire display case back secured by 4 screws. The dial is blue with applied white gold baton hour index markers. It has white gold feuille hands and an outer rectangle chapter ring with minute divisions. There is a subsidiary seconds dial at the 6 o'clock position. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and there is a 44-hour power reserve at full winding. The 7.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The manual winding mechanical Patek Philippe caliber 25-21 movement is rhodium plated with fausses cotes decoration, and it's stamped with the Patek Philippe seal. It's constructed with 18 jewels, 7 bridges, 142 components, and a shock absorber mechanism. It has a straight-line lever escapement, and a gyromax monometallic balance adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions. There is a self-compensating free-sprung flat balance spring, and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). The Gondolo series debuted in 1993 as Patekâs homage to Art Deco. This reference 5124G-011 watch is a contemporary re-examination of the stepped, stylistic lines of the 1920âs art movements that so influenced industrial design. The line is named for the âChronometro Gondoloâ pocket watches created by Patek Philippe for the Latin Brazilian Gondolo & Labouriau jewelers in Rio de Janeiro in 1902.
