More about Explorer I 36MM

This is a stainless-steel Rolex Explorer I 36mm 114270. It includes a monobloc stainless-steel F Series case with an integral stainless-steel Oyster bracelet with solid end links, and a domed scratch resistant sapphire crystal with glare-proof coating. It has a screw-down Twin-lock signed winding crown and a solid screw down case back. The 36mm diameter solid case, gently curved lugs, and flat angled bezel, are polished/brushed. The dial is black with a Rolex “3-6-9” configuration with a large luminous triangle at 12 o’clock and applied luminous rectangular hour indices surrounded by a white perimeter minute/second scale. It includes luminous steel “Mercedes” style Rolex hour and minute hands, and a center sweep “lollipop” second hand with a luminous circular indicator. It has a Certified Official Superlative Chronometer (COSC) rating, and it's water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet. It has a 42-hour power reserve at full winding, and the 12mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Rolex Explorer I 36mm 114270 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Rolex caliber 3130 (completely in-house made and an upgrade from the Rolex caliber 3000). It's rhodium-plated, with a shock absorber mechanism, and it's constructed with 31 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a monometallic balance adjusted to temperatures and 5 positions. It includes a paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring (with greater resistance to shock and temperature variations), and a self-compensating free-sprung Breguet balance spring. It has Microstella regulating screws, and a hacking seconds mechanism for precision time setting. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). The Rolex Explorer I 36mm 114270 was released in 2001 and it was produced through 2010. It’s worthy to have been an Explorer representative for ten years and is still capable of ascending any mountain on the planet.
