It includes a white "Buckley" dial with the original tritium luminescent inserts on the steel baton hour and minute hands, and there is a center sweep steel second hand. It has painted black Roman numeral hour markers and an applied steel Rolex crown at 12 o'clock, and there is a date aperture window at 3 o'clock with a magnified cyclops lens. It has a Certified Official Superlative Chronometer (COSC) rating, and there is a 44-hour power reserve at full winding. This Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 1601 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Rolex caliber 1560 (1650) movement. It's rhodium plated, and it's constructed with 25 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a KIF shock absorber system. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 18,000 vph (2.5Hz). This Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 1601 was introduced c. 1956, and the Buckley dial is most commonly found on vintage Datejust models from the 1970s and 80s. John Buckley, a vintage watch dealer from New York, and owner of the Tuscany Rose Company, was a Rolex expert and the white dial with black Roman numerals (never applied – only painted) became associated with him. It is a nickname, and Rolex has never officially used it. Buckley dials are featured on Rolex references 1601, 1603, 16014, and 16030.
