This is a stainless-steel Rolex Oyster Explorer II 16570. It has an integral 904L stainless-steel oyster bracelet with the folding Oysterlock safety clasp. It has a solid screw-down case back and a signed screw down Triplock winding crown with crown guards. The 40mm diameter solid three-body case, gently curved lugs, and flat 24-hour graduated 24-hour second time zone bezel are polished/brushed. It has a black dial with luminous Rolex "Mercedes" hands, a red GMT hand, a center sweep second hand with a luminous "lollipop" indicator, and luminous dot, baton, and triangular hour markers. The date aperture with a Cyclops bubble-magnifying lens is at 3 o'clock, and it has stop-seconds for precise time setting, and two time zones; the second time zone has independent rapid setting of the hour hand. Included is the Officially Certified Superlative Chronometer (COSC) certification. It's water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet. The 12mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Rolex Oyster Explorer II 16570 has a mechanical automatic winding caliber 3185 movement that's rhodium plated. It's constructed with 31 jewels, a shock absorber mechanism, and a straight-line lever escapement. It has a monometallic balance adjusted to cold, heat, and 5 positions, and a self-compensating Breguet balance spring. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28800 vph (4Hz). The original Rolex Explorer II was introduced in 1971, the heir to the Explorer, which was designed to be a precision guide tool for volcanologists, explorers, and speleologists. This Rolex Oyster Explorer II 16570 was introduced in 1989 and it was produced until 2011.
