This is an 18K yellow gold Rolex Submariner Lapis Lazuli Dial 16618. It has an integral 18K yellow gold Oyster bracelet (92908) with solid endlinks and a folding deployant clasp. The solid three-body 40mm diameter case is polished and brushed with a screwed down case back and Triplock winding crown protected by a crown guard. The graduated unidirectional revolving bezel is blue with Arabic numerals for the decompression times. It has a rare blue Lapis Lazuli dial with luminous index hour markers, luminous yellow gold skeleton hands, minute and second outer track divisions, and a sapphire scratch resistant crystal with a Cyclops lens for the date aperture at 3 o'clock. It's water resistant to 330 meters/1,000 feet, and the 13mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The automatic self-winding Rolex caliber 3135 movement is rhodium plated with oeil-de-perdrix embellishment. It's constructed with 31 jewels, and a shock absorber mechanism. It includes a straight-line lever escapement, and a monometallic balance adjusted to temperatures and 5 positions. It has a self-compensating free-sprung Breguet balance spring, Microstella regulating screws, and a central hacking seconds mechanism. Rolex debuted their first submariner in 1953 and this Lapis dialed variant is an extremely rare and desirable model.
