More about GMT Master "Radial" Nipple Dial 18k Yellow Gold C. 1973

This is a vintage c. 1973 18K yellow gold Rolex GMT Master Oyster Perpetual Date 1675. It has a leather strap with an 18k yellow gold Rolex tang buckle and an acrylic crystal with a Cyclops magnification bubble over the date aperture window at 3 o'clock. It has an 18K yellow gold bi-directional rotating 24-hour GMT bezel and a protected screwed-down crown. The 40mm diameter solid three-body case, integral lugs, and knurled bezel rim are polished/brushed. It has a rare burgundy dial with luminous "nipple" dot, baton, and triangular hour markers, and luminous skeleton Mercedes hands, all with aged Tritium lume. There is a central GMT hand with a luminous arrow tip for the second time zone, a center sweep seconds hand, and an outer minute/second division track. It's water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet, it has a 48-hour power reserve at full winding, and the 12mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Rolex GMT Master Oyster Perpetual Date 1675 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Rolex caliber 1575 (commonly signed 1570) movement that's rhodium-plated, with a KIF shock absorber mechanism. It's constructed with 26 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a free-sprung monometallic balance that's adjusted to 5 positions and temperature. It includes a self-compensating Breguet balance spring, and Microstella regulating screws. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 19,800 vph (2.75Hz). The Rolex GMT Master Oyster Perpetual Date 1675 was introduced in 1963.
