This is a stainless-steel Rolex Oyster Explorer II 216570. It includes a solid stainless-steel case on an integral 904L stainless steel oyster bracelet with the folding Oysterlock safety clasp. It has a solid screw-down case back and winding crown. The 42mm diameter solid three-body case, integral lugs, and 24-hour graduated bezel are satin/brushed. It has a black dial with large luminous “Mercedes” style Rolex hour and minute hands, and there is a center sweep seconds hand with a luminous circular “lollipop” indicator and a needle tip. An additional 24-hour hand has a large luminous orange arrow with a white insert for the GMT scale on the bezel, and it has luminous dot, baton, and triangular hour markers. The date aperture with a Cyclops bubble-magnifying lens is at 3 o'clock, it has stop-seconds for precise time setting, and the second time zone has independent rapid setting of the hour hand. Included is the Officially Certified Swiss Chronometer (COSC) certification. It's water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet, it has a 50-hour power reserve at full winding, and the 13mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Rolex Oyster Explorer II 216570 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Rolex caliber 3187 movement. It’s rhodium-plated with a paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring, and high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers. It has bidirectional self-winding via a perpetual rotor, and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hhz). The Rolex Oyster Explorer II 216570 was introduced in 1971, the refined and improved heir to the Explorer, which was designed to be a precision guide tool for volcanologists, explorers, and speleologists, and whose legend was born on the summit of Mount Everest.
