This is a vintage 1967 Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Exotic "Paul Newman" Dial 6241. It has an integral stainless steel rivet Oyster bracelet, and an acrylic crystal. It has hexagonal pump chronograph push buttons, and a screw-down winding crown. There is a solid screw-down case back, inside of which is engraved "MONTRES ROLEX SA – GENEVA SWITZERLAND – PATENTED – STAINLESS STEEL – 6241." The 37mm diameter solid three-body case, integral lugs, bracelet, and fixed bezel are polished/brushed. The bezel has a black Bakelite insert with tachymeter graduations to 200 UPH. The dial is white with black subsidiary dials, Daytona in red letters, applied square steel indexes and luminous dots, steel hands with luminous inserts, and a center sweep seconds chronograph hand with a white arrow tip. There is a perimeter minute/one-fifth seconds scale with red micro divisions. The 13.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Exotic "Paul Newman" Dial 6241 has a manual winding caliber 722-1 chronograph movement. It's rhodium-plated, with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 17 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance that's adjusted to three positions, a self-compensating free-sprung Breguet balance spring, and Microstella regulating screws.
