This is a black PVD-coated stainless-steel Sarpaneva Korona Black Moon K3. It includes a black DLC coated stainless steel case on a leather strap with a matching black DLC coated (Diamond Like Carbon) tang buckle and scratch resistant sapphire crystals with non-reflective coating on the insides. There is a crenelated pull-out winding crown and an exhibition sapphire display crystal case back secured with 5 screws and engraved with "KORONA," and a serial number. The 44mm diameter solid two-body case, curved lugs, and notched concave bezel, are polished black PVD-coated stainless-steel. The dial is completely open worked with a complex lattice-like grid with rounded trapezoidal hour markers around the perimeter. It has a circular complete moon phase subsidiary dial at 12 o'clock with a Sarpaneva's "angry moon" hand-engraved face carved on the revolving moon discs out of oxidized silver. It has two-tone arrow-shaped hands hour and minute hands with black polished arrow tips and silver micro-blasted stems, it has a 42-hour power reserve at full winding, and the 9.6mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Sarpaneva Korona Black Moon K3 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Soprod A10 movement with modifications by Sarpeneva. It's rhodium plated and protected by the "grid." It's constructed with 25 jewels, an anti-shock system, a monometallic balance, a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a skeletonized stainless-steel rotor with a white gold mass and another white gold angry moon face. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz). The Sarpaneva Korona Black Moon K3 was designed by Stepan Sarpaneva in 2008 and produced an extremely limited edition of only 20 examples worldwide in 2009. The name and concept refer to the legendary temptress Lilith who preyed on men during the new moon. It won a 2009 Red Dot Award for communication design. It was entirely made in Finland.
