This is an 18k yellow gold Vacheron Constantin Les Historiques 222 4200H/222J-B935. It includes a 3N 18k yellow gold case on an integral 18k yellow hexagonal link gold bracelet with a double deployment clasp and hallmarks, and scratch resistant sapphire crystals. It has a signed pull-out winding crown and a screw down exhibition sapphire display crystal case back engraved with “VACHERON CONSTANTIN – AU750 – SWISS MADE – 4200H – 50M,” hallmarks and a serial number. The 37mm diameter tonneau-shaped case, hooded lugs, bracelet, and scalloped and stepped round bezel, have a vertical brushed satin/polished finish. The Laiton Generique CuZn dial is champagne gold toned with gold baton hour and minute hands with luminous Super-LumiNova fill, matching luminous applied gold short baton hour indices, and it has a perimeter black strake minute/hour scale. There is a gold-framed quickset date aperture window at the 3 o’clock position and a small recessed circular white gold Maltese cross emblem is at 5 o’clock on the case top. It has a 40-hour power reserve at full winding, it’s water resistant to 50 meters/165 feet, and the 7.95mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Vacheron Constantin Les Historiques 222 4200H/222J-B935 has a mechanical automatic Vacheron Constantin caliber 2445-2 (based on the caliber 2455) movement. It’s rhodium plated with perlage embellishment and the hallmark of the quality Seal of Geneva, and it’s constructed with 27 jewels, 194 components, an anti-shock system, a monometallic balance adjusted to 5 positions, and a 22k yellow gold signed rotor engraved with “222.” The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz). This watch was introduced in 2022 and is a modern version based on the famed 222 model from 1977 that was designed by Jorg Hysek.
