This is a stainless-steel Zenith Extra Special Pilot Type 20 Blueprint 03.2435.679.51.I012. It includes a stainless-steel case on a blue leather strap with a stainless-steel tang buckle and a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. It has an onion-shaped oversize winding crown, a screwed edition-number plate on the left-side case band, and a solid case back secured with 6 screws engraved with “ZENITH FLYING INSTRUMENTS – MONTRE D AERONET TYPE 20,” and a high relief center medallion with the Zenith Pilot emblem. The 45mm diameter stainless-steel case, angled lugs, and stepped bezel are polished/brushed. The dual layer blue dial has white “blueprint” designs indicating the precise plan for the dial, fancy steel Pilot-style “cathedral” hour and minute hands, a center sweep second hand with an arrow/needle tip and a wedge counterbalance, and luminous white outlined Arabic numeral hour markers around a perimeter 60-minute /second chapter ring. It has a 55-hour power reserve at full winding, it’s water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet, and the 14.25mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Zenith Extra Special Pilot Type 20 Blueprint 03.2435.679.51.I012 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Zenith caliber Elite 679 (base caliber 680) movement. It's constructed with 26 jewels, 126 components, and an oscillating weight with a Cotes de Geneve motif. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). The Zenith Extra Special Pilot Type 20 Blueprint 03.2435.679.51.I012 was introduced in a limited edition of 250 examples in 2020/21.
