More about Portuguese 7 Day Automatic 18K Rose Gold 42MM

This is an 18K rose gold IWC Portuguese 7 Day, IW500101. The leather strap has a matching 18K rose gold tang buckle. The 42mm diameter solid three-body case and curved lugs are polished and brushed, and there is a sapphire crystal with antireflective coating on both sides, and a screw-down sapphire crystal display case back. It has a screw-down crown, and a calendar aperture at 6 o'clock. The dial is silver with applied 18K rose gold Arabic numeral hour markers, an outer minute track with dot divisions, and steel feuille hands. A small hacking seconds sub dial with a stop function is at 9 o'clock, and the 7-day power reserve dial is at 3. It's water resistant to 30 meters, and the 14mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The Pellaton automatic winding calibre 5000 movement is rhodium plated with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 44 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a shock absorber mechanism. It has a Glucydur beryllium alloy balance with high-precision adjustment cam on balance arms, and a self-compensating Breguet balance spring. There is a skeletonized bi-directional rotor with an 18K gold medallion inlay engraved "IWC Probus Scafusia," (Fine Schaffhausen). This model references the first IWC Portuguese watches of the 1930's, with the railway track chapter ring, Arabic numerals, and feuille hands. It debuted in 2004.
