30622 Rolex 18038 Oyster Perpetual Day Date Diamond and Ruby String Dial, 18038, 18k yellow gold on an 18k yellow gold presidential bracelet, the case does not appear to have been detailed in the past, the bracelet is in very good condition and is tight, automatic movement, date & day (single quick), calendar, rare diamond and ruby string dial, centered sweep seconds hand, diameter: 36mm, thicnkess: 12mm, (898XXXX circa 1985). Excellent Condition with European Watch Company pouch and original box and certificate dated December of 1985.

This is a vintage c. 1985 18K yellow gold Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 18038. It has an 18k yellow gold Oyster link President bracelet with a double folding deployment clasp, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It has a screw down Twinlock winding crown, and a screw down solid case back. The 36mm diameter solid three body case, fluted bezel, and bracelet are polished/brushed. There is a quick-set date aperture window at the 3 o'clock position underneath a Cyclops magnifier bubble, and an arched indicator at 12 o'clock for the completely spelled day of the week in English. The dial is Champagne gold with ruby faceted hour index markers around a diamond string of 30 fine white diamond minute markers. Around the perimeter is a black minute/second scale with luminous hour pips. It has a central sweep seconds hand, and gold minute and hour hands with luminous inserts. It includes the Certified Official Superlative Chronometer (COSC) certificate, and the 12mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 18038 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Rolex caliber 3055 movement. It's rhodium-plated, with oeil-de-perdrix embellishment. It's constructed with 27 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, an anti-shock device, and a Glucydor monometallic balance that's adjusted to 5 positions and temperature. It includes a self-compensating Breguet balance spring, Microstella regulating screws, and a hacking seconds mechanism for precision time setting.
