Each week, EWC will be gathering horological industry news, cultural conversations and moments surrounding our favorite topic: timepieces. Happy Friday; here’s what’s on our watch.

Awards season continues to sizzle, and we’re only on our second awards show of the year! We saw everything from vintage to iced-out diamond timepieces and everything in between, so let’s jump right into the most watch-heavy red carpet in recent memory.

Golden Globes

There were many heavy-hitters on the Golden Globes red carpet, both in fashion and in watches. There were almost too many watches to count at the notoriously fun and boozy awards ceremony but here are some of the highlights.

Subtle elegance

Kumail Nanjiani wore the perfect combo of a Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar whose dial sublimely coordinated with the color of his burgundy jacket, Oscar Isaac wore a Bulgari Octo Finissimo in yellow gold, and Jeremy Allen White sported a Louis Vuitton Tambour.

Precious gemstones

Colman Domingo wore an OMEGA Speedmaster 38 with diamond bezel, coordinating nicely with the diamonds on his multiple brooches.

Benny Blanco wore a diamond & sapphire piece from Jacob & Co., and Jennifer Lawrence wore vintage Longines, pairing beautifully with her intricate dress.

The Rock wore a limited edition Chopard Alpine Eagle “Frozen Summit” covered in 29 carats of diamonds, and Hudson Williams wore a Bulgari Serpenti Tubogas.

Vintage vibes

Walton Goggins wore a vintage Cartier Tonneau on a bracelet, Kevin Hart wore a vintage Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, and Michael B. Jordan wore a vintage Patek Philippe 1593P “Hour Glass”.

Rolex flex

Leonardo DiCaprio wore a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona ‘Le Mans’, Will Arnett sported a Rolex Deepsea in yellow gold, Queen Latifah shone in a Rolex Day-Date in Everose gold, and Vince Gilligan wore a Rolex Daytona that was given to him by Charlie Collier.

Watch-y Supreme

Kevin O'Leary double-wristed with a Cartier Tank Asymmetrique Skeleton and a piece unique F.P. Journe Chronomètre à Résonance and carried two watches he wore on the set of Marty Supreme, a vintage Seiko and a Patek Philippe, and Timothée Chalamet wearing an Urban Jurgensen UJ-2.

New releases

OMEGA introduced two new models to the Speedmaster line with the Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch Black and White, one in steel and one in gold. Both versions have a reverse panda dial layout, with the base of the lacquered dial in black and the subdials in white, a relatively uncommon color layout in the Speedmaster Professional lineup. They have 42mm cases and feature the manually wound OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861, which has a 50-hour power reserve and is visible through the exhibition caseback. The gold version is in OMEGA’s proprietary Moonshine Gold, an 18K gold alloy that is slightly paler in color than traditional yellow gold, giving it a distinctive look.

Arnold & Son released its Perpetual Moon 41.5 Red Gold “Year of the Horse”, paying tribute to this year’s Chinese zodiac Year of the Fire Horse. The artistic craftsmanship on the dial depicts a horse on a hilltop, with the dramatic contrast of a starry sky and fiery smoke in the background. The horse itself, in red gold that matches the case, is applied to the dial and hand-engraved, and the hand-painted dial features some touches of Super-LumiNova to accentuate the scene in darker lighting conditions. The signature moon in the moonphase aperture is made of mother-of-pearl, set against the night sky made of aventurine. The watch is powered by the brand’s in-house A&S1512 calibre, a manually-wound movement that has a quick-set moonphase function accessible by a pusher on the case, with the phases of the moon visible through the exhibition caseback for quick and easy setting.

Watch business

Vacheron Constantin announced that it will be participating in an initiative by Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo, the Concours d'Élégance Horlogère. The initiative is aimed at collectors who own Vacheron Constantin pocket watches or wristwatches. Seven prizes will be awarded to participants in the competition, which is open to enthusiasts worldwide. An international jury of experts, co-chaired by Aurel Bacs, Senior Consultant at Phillips in association with Bacs & Russo, and Christian Selmoni, Director of Style and Heritage at Vacheron Constantin, will judge the competition. Registration is open from January 19th to April 30th, 2026 at Vacheron Constantin boutiques or online via this dedicated page on the brand’s website.
