Each week, EWC will be gathering horological industry news, cultural conversations and moments surrounding our favorite topic: timepieces. Happy Friday; here’s what’s on our watch.

It seems like 2025 has flown by, and nothing will really drive that point home like two big watch events announcing their dates and lineups for January.

A couple of splashy and sparkly new releases and lots of watches on the red carpet round out the second-to-last roundup of the year. Let's get into it.

New releases

Vacheron Constantin introduced two versions of the Overseas Self-Winding High Jewelry, the first fully gem-set models of the 35mm Overseas Self-Winding. The two sparkling models, one in 18K 5N pink gold and one in 18K white gold, shimmer with both baguette-cut and brilliant-cut diamonds, fully set around the bezel, case, and bracelet. Both are powered by the in-house automatic Calibre 1088/1, with both time and date displays, and they come with easily interchangeable additional straps in both alligator leather and rubber, with a diamond-set buckle.

At Miami Art Week, in the shadow of their epic party celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Big Bang, Hublot introduced four versions of the Big Bang Meca-10 Street Art: Big Water, Vice, Sunshine, and Magic City. The four models feature cases made of composite concrete, which is interesting enough on its own before you take a look at their bright, hand-painted designs. They’re powered by Hublot’s manually wound Meca-10 caliber HUB1201, which is visible through the sapphire mid-case, a nice little treat for the mechanical watch enthusiast. The rubber straps continue the street art motif of each model, making each watch a wearable piece of art.

Celeb sightings

The red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of Marty Supreme was chock full of watches, with star Timothée Chalamet in Urban Jurgensen, Tyler the Creator wearing a tiny vintage timepiece, and Kevin O’Leary double-wristing with a Patek Philippe 1593 on one wrist. Let us know if you can ID the watch on O'Leary's other wrist.

Carmelo Anthony, former basketball player and host of the podcast “7 PM in Brooklyn”, wore a Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Pirelli Black DLC Titanium 45mm while speaking with his podcast guest Timothée Chalamet. The two discussed Knicks fandom and Chalamet’s work on Marty Supreme.

Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men appeared as a guest on the One Song podcast for a two-part episode about the band’s debut song “Motownphilly” wearing an Arnold & Son DSTB, or ‘Dial-Side True Beat’. The watch showcases its deadbeat seconds mechanism on the dial side, a fitting timepiece for the podcast that breaks down songs to their individual elements and highlights the intricate nature of music production.

Industry news

Vacheron Constantin has opened two new boutiques in Palm Beach, Florida, and Atlanta, Georgia. Each boutique showcases the full range of Vacheron Constantin’s offerings, bringing together the elegant aesthetic of the brand’s Swiss heritage with boutique designs that reflect the local area and its culture. Both reflect the brand’s continued investment in expanding in the United States.

India Watch Weekend will return to Mumbai the weekend of January 17-18, 2026.
