More about Langematik Perpetual Calendar 310.021 18K Yellow Gold FULL SET

This is an 18K yellow gold A. Lange & Sohne Langematik Perpetual calendar 310.021. It is the first self-winding wristwatch ever made with a perpetual calendar function, a double window outsize date, and a zero-reset mechanism. A single push of the corrector on the side of the case at 10 o'clock advances all calendar functions simultaneously by one day. This self-winding timepiece has four subsidiary dials, one at 9 o'clock for the days of the week that includes a 24-hour day/night indicator, another at three o'clock for the month and within that is a leap year dial. The moonphase indicator is at 6 o'clock. The silver dial has 18K yellow gold alpha hands and applied Roman numerals. The leather strap also has an 18K gold buckle. It has a three-body, solid, brushed and polished case with a rounded bezel and a transparent sapphire case-back with 6 screws. The caliber L922.1 "Sax-O-Mat" movement has a Glasshute ¾ German silver plate with fausses cotes decoration, 43 jewels, a hand-engraved balance bridge, and a monometallic balance adjusted to 5 positions. There is a self-compensating flat balance spring, a shock absorber, and a straight-line lever escapement. It has a 21K gold, bi-directional micro-rotor with a platinum segment, a swan neck micrometer regulator, and the dial, case, and movement are all signed. It is an elegant 10mm thin, and it's also produced in platinum. Lange only included the perpetual calendar with the moonphase indicator in five important pocket watches between 1887 and 1931, with the dream being of an outsize date watch that was also perpetual. They presented the horological world with this incredible timepiece in the late 1990's. It has since been discontinued/upgraded with slight changes. This watch is a definitive example of how this first and still finest of German precision watchmakers set the standards in horology in 1845.
