More about Tribute to Deep Sea Memovox Limited

This is a stainless steel Jaeger LeCoultre Memovox Tribute To Deep Sea, Q2028470. It has a tropic style strap with a stainless steel tang buckle, and a Plexiglas crystal. The 40.5mm solid three-body case, downturned lugs, and revolving bezel are polished. The crown at 2 o'clock activates the central revolving alarm dial, while the crown at 4 o'clock is for winding and time setting. It has a screw down case back. The dial is black with luminescent skeleton baton hands and applied dart hour indicators. The bezel has a graduated12 hour scale with silver Arabic hour markers and four luminescent triangular indexes. The outer track has minute divisions. It's water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet, and it has a 45-hour power reserve. The 14.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The mechanical automatic self-winding Jaeger LeCoultre calibre 956 movement is rhodium-plated with fausses côtes embellishment. It's constructed with 23 jewels, 268 components, a shock absorber mechanism, and a straight-line lever escapement. It has a monometallic balance, and a self-compensating flat balance spring. The mechanism oscillates at 28,800 vph. This is a limited edition of 959 examples and is a tribute to the original Memovox deep sea watch which debuted in 1959, and was the first automatic diving watch to include an alarm function that told the diver when to resurface. The design aesthetics refer to the original Memovox Deep Sea timepiece.
