IWC IW3770 Grande Complication Platinum White Dial LIMITED

This IWC Grande Complication, reference 3770, is a landmark for the brand as its first grande complication and its first minute-repeater wristwatch, bringing together three of horology's most challenging mechanisms in one platinum case. Powered by the automatic calibre 79091, it unites a minute repeater — whose mechanism was developed with the workshop of Renaud et Papi — a perpetual calendar with a four-digit year display, and a chronograph. The perpetual calendar uses IWC's ingenious mechanically programmed system, allowing every indication to be advanced together through the crown. Made in strictly limited numbers, with examples individually numbered to 50, it is a genuinely rare piece. The platinum case measures 42mm across and 16.4mm in thickness, its restrained round form giving little outward hint of the mechanical density within, yet wearing with real presence. A white lacquer dial, evoking the porcelain dials of vintage IWC pocket watches, keeps the crowded display remarkably legible. One of the most ambitious wristwatches the brand has ever produced.
