This is an MB&F Legacy Machine No. 1, 01.WL.W. It includes an 18K white gold case on an alligator leather strap with an 18k white gold tang buckle and scratch resistant sapphire crystals (domed over the face). It has dual time zones with two opposing pull out signed winding crowns on the case sides at 8 and 4 o’clock. There is an exhibition sapphire display case back secured with 8 screws, marked “AU 750,” and with a serial number. The 44mm diameter two-body case, curved lugs, and convex bezel, are polished/brushed. The grey Arabesque wave guilloche dial is contemporarily minimalistic, with a split white gold cantilevered structure braced by two large circular white time-zone dials with black Roman numerals and blued arrow/feuille hour and minute hands. There is a unique “stingray” shaped power reserve indicator at 6 o’clock with a vertically moving blue indicator hand. “LEGACY MACHINE” is engraved across the bottom of the dial. It’s water resistant to 50 meters/165 feet, it has a 45-hour power reserve at full winding, and the 16mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This MB&F Legacy Machine No. 1, 01.WL.W has a completely in house-built manual wind caliber LM1 movement. It’s rhodium plated, with Cotes de Geneve embellishment, and extensive hand finishing throughout, including polished bevels and hand engraving. It’s constructed with 23 jewels as a 3-deimensional structure created by the team at Chronode with Jean-Francoise Mojon and Kari Voutilainen (Chronode won the Best Watchmaker Prize at the 2010 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève). It has a single mainspring barrel, gold chatons, and a bespoke balance wheel with 4 regulating screws that float above the dial. It includes 279 components, and a Breguet Curve balance spring terminating in a mobile stud holder. It includes polished countersinks, and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 18,000 vph (2.5Hz). This is a groundbreaking watch that was manufactured between 2011 and 2017.
