More about Vintage Snowflake Submariner Blue Dial / Blue Bezel c. 1979 PATINA

This is a vintage 1979 stainless steel Tudor Submariner "Snowflake," 9411/0. It has a Rolex folded link Oyster bracelet, and the original mineral sapphire crystal with the Cyclops magnifying bubble. It has a screwed-down solid case back and Rolex Twinlock winding crown protected by the crown guard. The 40mm diameter solid three-body case, curved lugs, and fluted bezel rim are polished/brushed, and the bidirectional revolving matte blue bezel with decompression times is in excellent condition. The original "Snowflake" blue dial has perfectly matching hands, with the distinctive diamond-shaped hour hand, and creamy yellow tritium luminous triangular, square and baton hour markers. There is an outer minute/seconds track and a center sweep seconds hand with a diamond-shaped pointer. The quick-set date aperture window is at the 3 o'clock position, and the 12mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The mechanical automatic self-winding Tudor/Rolex caliber 2784 movement is rhodium-plated, with a shock absorber mechanism. It's constructed with 25 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic balance that's adjusted for temperature, and a self-compensating flat balance spring. The model 9411/0 was produced circa. 1975-76, and only the date versions featured the caliber 2784 movement.
