More about Skeleton Chronograph Yellow Gold

This is an 18K yellow gold Vacheron Constantine Skeleton Chronograph, reference 47100. It has an alligator leather strap with an 18k gold buckle and a Vacheron Constantine Maltese cross tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. There is a screw-down exhibition sapphire display case back secured with 4 screws, round chronograph pushbuttons, and a screw-down winding crown. The winding barrel is visible under the Vacheron Maltese cross at the 7 o'clock position. The 36mm diameter solid two-body case back, straight lugs, and stepped bezel are polished. The hand engraved skeletonized dial is gold with complete scrollwork design, and a painted 1/5th seconds track on an outer reserve. It has gold baton hands and a center chronograph hand. There are two subsidiary dials with silver rims - one for the seconds at 9 o'clock, and another with the 30-minute register at 3 o'clock. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and the 10.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. The mechanical manual winding Vacheron Constantin caliber 1140 SQ movement is rhodium plated, hand-engraved and skeletonized. It's constructed with 21jewels, and a shock absorber mechanism. It has straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic balance that's adjusted to 5 positions, and a self-compensating Breguet balance spring. This Vacheron Constantine Skeleton Chronograph, reference 47100, is from Les Complications Collection. It was introduced in 1991 in a total production of 100 examples.
