The A. Lange and Sohne Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon ref. 740.036FE is a 950 platinum watch with a black dial and black alligator leather strap. Introduced in 2016, it brings together the Datograph display with a tourbillon, perpetual calendar, chronograph, moonphase, outsize date, power-reserve indicator, day and night indicator, and day-of-week display. The 41.5 mm platinum case has real heft on the wrist, balanced by clean, restrained proportions and a sapphire caseback. The dial is solid silver with a black finish, fitted with solid-gold appliques and hour markers. Rhodiumed gold and blued steel hands keep the display readable despite the amount of information on the dial. Luminous material appears on the hour and minute hands and on the hour markers at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock. Inside is the manually wound Lange caliber L952.2, made up of 729 parts and offering a 50-hour power reserve. Water resistance is 3 bar.
