David Candaux DC6 Solstice Tourbillon Titanium Gray Dial PIECE UNIQUE

This David Candaux DC6 Solstice is a piece unique, set apart from the numbered series by a hand-engraved tremblage movement and a single diamond set into its gold numeral plate, and it offers the chance to own a piece from Candaux that exists nowhere else. The hand-wound calibre 1740 is crafted in Grade 5 titanium down to its plate, bridges, wheels and tourbillon cage, a metal notoriously difficult to finish by hand. Its flying tourbillon is inclined at 30° under one sapphire dome, with the hours and minutes raised under the other, wound through the patented Magic Crown. Through the sapphire caseback, the tremblage gives the titanium a fine, shimmering grain, while the full servicing specifications are micro-engraved on the flank of the baseplate for watchmakers generations from now. The titanium case measures 46.5mm × 45.7mm with a thickness of 14mm, remarkably light for its presence and curved to follow the wrist. The gray dial carries his Pointes du Risoux guilloché. Conceived as a contemporary reading of the half-hunter pocket watch, the Solstice is Candaux's answer to a classic form, and in this one-off example that idea is carried through to every surface.
