This De Bethune reference DB27V2JPS is the DB27 Titan Hawk in the John Player Special livery — the black-and-gold colourway drawn from the 1970s Lotus Formula One cars — a limited edition of 50 from one of independent watchmaking's most inventive houses. Its case is black zirconium, a hard, light, hypoallergenic high-tech material, with yellow grade-5 titanium accents on De Bethune's patented articulated "floating lugs," which pivot to hug wrists of any size. Inside is the in-house automatic calibre AUTOV2, with a 60-hour reserve and De Bethune's patented titanium balance wheel set with white gold, visible through the tinted sapphire back. The case measures 43mm in height and width with a thickness of just 9mm, remarkably slim for its presence. The black microlight dial — a decorative finish unique to De Bethune — is ringed with gold Roman hours and a gold Arabic minute track.
