This Grönefeld 1941 Principia in stainless steel with a salmon dial comes from the Dutch "Horological Brothers," Bart and Tim Grönefeld — third-generation watchmakers whose output runs to only a handful of pieces a month. The Principia was their first time-only watch and their first automatic, built around an entirely new in-house movement rather than any earlier design. Its appeal lies in the execution: bridges shaped like the bell-gable roofs of Dutch houses, a 22k red gold rotor turning on a ceramic bearing, and more than a dozen hand-finishing techniques, all visible through the sapphire back. The salmon dial is solid sterling silver, with applied baton markers, blued-steel hands and a small seconds at six. The stainless steel case measures 39.5mm in height and width with a thickness of 10.5mm, sculpted and elegant on the wrist.
