Introduced in 2008 as part of IWC’s 140th anniversary Vintage Collection, the IW544501 Vintage Portuguese Hand‑Wound 1939 pays homage to the original 1939 Portugieser reference 325. The 44 mm stainless steel case, measuring just 10 mm thick, evokes the pocket‑watch proportions that inspired the design, while the matte black dial features a railroad minute track and alternating Arabic numerals and markers, all driven by the in‑house manual‑wind caliber 98295. This beautifully finished movement, visible through the sapphire exhibition caseback, boasts an oversized balance, Breguet overcoil hairspring, 18 jewels, and a 46‑hour power reserve.
