Description

The Omega CK 2998-2 Speedmaster is an early Speedmaster chronograph produced around 1959 to 1960. It has a 39.5 mm stainless steel case, a black dial, and a matching black tachymeter bezel. The dial uses a classic three-register layout with running seconds, a 30-minute recorder, and a 12-hour recorder. Inside is the manual-wind Caliber 321 movement. Period examples are known for their alpha hands and the lollipop chronograph seconds hand linked to this reference. The CK 2998-2 was offered on a stainless steel bracelet, though some surviving watches are also seen on leather straps. As the second generation of the Speedmaster line, it carries the core design cues that define the early model: a steel case, black dial, and hand-wound chronograph layout.
