As an example of the founding Nautilus reference designed by Gérald Genta, it carries all the hallmarks that made the model an icon: the porthole-inspired case, the rounded octagonal bezel secured by lateral screws at its "ears," and the horizontally embossed dial. Powered by the ultra-thin automatic calibre 28-255 C, it displays hours, minutes, and a date at three o'clock. The two-part case measures 40mm across and just 7.6mm in thickness, remarkably slim for its wrist presence, and carries a 120-metre depth rating thanks to its clever monobloc construction. A blue dial with horizontal ridges gives it the unmistakable Nautilus character, the tone playing warmly against the steel-and-gold case.
