This Vacheron Constantin reference 4200H/222A is the Historiques 222 in stainless steel with a blue dial — the revival of one of the definitive integrated-bracelet sports watches of the 1970s. The original 222 arrived in 1977, designed by Jörg Hysek to mark Vacheron Constantin's 222nd anniversary, alongside the era's other great steel sports watches; its steel examples were made in small numbers and are now highly prized, which gives this modern steel edition real resonance. The design carries over faithfully — the monobloc tonneau case, the fluted bezel and the Maltese cross set at five o'clock. Driving it is the in-house self-winding calibre 2455/2, thin enough to keep the profile slim and shown through a sapphire back. The stainless steel case measures 37mm in height and width with a thickness of 8mm, water resistant to 50m, its blue dial marked by luminous batons and a date at three.
