Blancpain Vintage Fifty Fathoms Gilt Rotomatic Incabloc MILITARY, this is the first series Blancpain Aqualung from the 1950s and is one of the most important and first dive watches in history, stainless steel case is in very good condition, automatic signed AS 1361 N movement with Blancpain 50 Fathoms signed rotor, 17 Jewels, original and unaltered radium dial is in excellent condition for its age, the radium on the dial and hands are original to the watch, early Blancpain Rotomatic Incabloc had the signature in Gilt printing, original bakelite bezel is nicely aged with unique inverted 30, military markers can be seen on the underside of the bezel as well as on the case where the bezel sits (numbers typically are not supposed to match), original dust cover, 3 color gasket, very early SN (52X) dating to circa 1956, size: 41mm, thickness: 13.8mm, Extremely rare watch and an early example of a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Aqualung Rotomatic with military history. Please note the serial number 52X is one of the earliest examples known.

This is a Vintage c. 1956 stainless steel Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Rotomatic Gilt Incabloc Aqualung Military. It has a NATO strap with a stainless steel tang buckle, and an acrylic crystal. There is a screw-down case back engraved with "BLANCPAIN – 50 FATHOMS – STAINLESS STEEL – SWISS MADE" in the center, and around the perimeter is "WATERPROOF – SHOCK PROTECTED – AUTOMATIC – ANTIMAGNETIC." Underneath is an antimagnetic protective dust cap engraved with "IN CASE OF OPENING THE WATERTIGHTNESS OF THIS WATCH MUST BE CHECKED BY AN OFFICIAL BLANCPAIN 50 FATHOMS DEALER." The 41mm diameter solid two-body case, downturned screwed lugs, and bidirectional revolving bezel with decompression times every five minutes including luminous Arabic numerals and baton indices with a diamond shape at 12 o'clock, are polished/brushed. It has the original Bakelite black bezel with a knurled edge, and the radium is evenly aged. There are gilt Arabic numeral markers at the quarter hours, baton indices, original gilt skeletal baton hands with luminous inserts, and a gilt luminous arrow tipped center sweep seconds hand. Around the perimeter is a 60-minute/one-fifth second scale. The 13.8mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Rotomatic Incabloc Gilt Aqualung Military has a mechanical automatic Blancpain caliber AS 1361N movement, that's rhodium plated. It's constructed with 17 jewels, an Incabloc shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance, a weighted signed rotor, and a self-compensating flat balance spring. This Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Rotomatic Gilt Incabloc Aqualung Military is an extremely rare first edition with a 52X serial number – one of the earliest examples known.
