More about Rolex 16528 Daytona 16528 Zenith Gold Dial 18K / Bracelet

This is a 1995 18K yellow gold Rolex Daytona "Zenith El Primero" 16528. It has an integral 18k yellow gold Oyster link bracelet with a double deployment buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. There is a solid screw-down brushed case back, screw-down chronograph pushbuttons, and a Triplock winding-crown protected by the crown guard. The 40mm diameter solid three-body case, curved lugs, and flat angled bezel with a tachometer graduation to 400 UPH, are polished/brushed. The dial is yellow-gold with 8 fine round diamond hour markers set in gold octagonal chatons, black Arabic numeral minute makers at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock, and the gold Role crown at 12 o'clock. It has an outer minute/one-fifth second track around the perimeter, yellow gold baton hands with luminous inserts, and a gold center sweep chronograph hand. There are three black-rimmed subsidiary dials, including a running small seconds register at 9 o'clock, a 12-hour register at 6 o'clock, and a 30-minute chronograph totalizer at 3 o'clock. It has a Certified Official Swiss Chronometer (COSC) rating, and it's water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet. The 12.3mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This Rolex Daytona "Zenith El Primero" 16528 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Zenith caliber 4030 movement that's rhodium-plated, with oeil-de-perdrix embellishment. It's constructed with 31 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, a shock absorber mechanism, and a monometallic balance adjusted to 6 positions. It includes a self-compensating free sprung Breguet balance spring, and Microstella regulating screws. The oscillator has the patented Rolex paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring, with bidirectional self-winding via the perpetual rotor that was invented by Rolex in 1931, consisting of a half-moon shaped oscillating weight that pivots freely in both directions on its axle, utilizing the energy of the natural wrist movement. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz).

The Rolex Daytona "Zenith El Primero" 16528 was introduced in the 1990's.
