The Dial Colors Defining 2026's Biggest Watch Releases
Published on 6/18/2026

Certain colors never fall out of style: they’re signifiers of emotions, whether fiery or calming, serene or dramatic. Other colors follow yearly trends, pinging back and forth across the color wheel, and generating unexpected considerations for what might be the next big thing. Usually, all it takes is just one watch. Remember when the Tiffany-dial Patek Philippe Nautilus made teals and seafoam greens the hottest look of the moment?
And while chasing down trends might seem like a fool’s errand, it’s still worth considering what might become the next hot dial color for 2026. “Even if clients aren’t instantly sold on a bright new color, these releases spark incredible imagination for future additions,” said Christopher Weiss, Watch Specialist at European Watch Company. “You might not wear a bold green dial every single day, but finding the right shade is the perfect way to energize your collection and bring fresh variety to your watch box.”
In particular, Watches and Wonders always brings an exciting range of colored dials into the spotlight, where a hot new release can spark an overall trend. Here’s what we’ve seen so far.
Green
In Geneva, “the trend I noticed almost right away this year was green dials in all kinds of shades,” says Kathleen McGivney of European Watch Company. Nowhere else was this better exemplified than in the aventurine green that Rolex chose for its new Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40: a perfect pairing for the entirely new Jubilee Gold alloy that couldn’t have debuted on a more distinguished watch than the President.

Other notable greens released this year include Chopard’s Alpine Eagle 41 with a “Pine Green” dial and a swirling, striped gradient, and an anniversary-marking IWC Ingenieur 42 rendered in olive green ceramic.
Brown
A dark, warm earth tone — you could call it the earthiest of all earth tones — speaks to Old World luxury: it’s the color of woodworking, rare stones, or the sweat and toil of craftsmanship. In the example of the Patek Philippe Reference 5249R-001, the old world is on full display with an animatronic reference to “The Crow and the Fox.” It’s also the first automaton in the modern history of Patek Philippe, bringing a cautionary tale from Aesop’s Fables to life via micromechanics.

Other notable shades of brown, tan, beige, and the like include the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Chronometre Perpetual Calendar, pairing a toffee-brown dial with pink gold, and the Tudor Monarch, which revives a historic Tudor name with a pale champagne dial and Roman/Arabic numerals in black.
White
Sure, you might think that a white dial might be boring. After all, it’s been the default color since the age of the pocket watch, a rational choice that’s as safe as vanilla (even though vanilla is a flavor…). But how about an entirely white watch? With a completely luminous case in the brand’s proprietary ceramic material, the IWC Big Pilot Perpetual Calendar Ceralume makes the absence of color dramatic, especially when the lights go out.

And reflecting the notion that clean white sneakers never go out of style, the Reebok x H. Moser & Cie Streamliner Pump brings 1990s nostalgia to mechanical watchmaking, especially in a forged quartz fiber case.
Pastels in all colors
Watches should be fun! That’s a notion that Swatch landed on in the 1980s, and it’s been revitalized in the retro wave of the most colorful decade. Eschewing the neons that were also a hit in the era, pastels strike the right balance between fun and outlandish.

TAG Heuer’s Formula 1 Solargraph brings pale pink, beige, and light blue to the retro revival, while the infamous Audemars Piguet x Swatch Royal Pop Collection is at its most eye-catching in contrasting pink/red, seafoam green/teal, and teal/yellow/pink combinations.
2026's dial colors show that watch brands are embracing a broader palette. With bright, saturated greens, subtle, understated browns, the quiet versatility of white, and the playfulness of pastels, there's a wide range of colors to choose from for every wrist.
