More about Villeret Chronograph 18K Yellow Gold White Dial

This is a 1966 18K yellow gold Blancpain Villeret Split Second Chronograph 1185-1418-55. It has an alligator leather strap and an 18K yellow gold Blancpain tang buckle. The solid, 34 mm diameter three-body case, stepped bezel, and straight lugs are polished, with a sapphire scratch-resistant crystal. The chronograph pushbuttons are at the 2 and four o'clock positions. The dial is white with applied 18K gold yellow Roman numeral hour index markers with outer chronograph divisions and gold feuille hands. The 30-minute register subsidiary dial is at 3 o'clock, the 12-hour dial is a 9 o'clock, and a small running constant seconds sub dial is at 6 o'clock with a square date aperture as well. It's water resistant to 30 meters, and it has a 40-hour power reserve at full wind. The case is an ultra-thin 8 mm., and the case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Blancpain Villeret Split Second Chronograph 1185-1418-55 has a mechanical self-winding automatic caliber 1185 movement that's rhodium-plated, with fausses cotes embellishment. It includes a straight-line lever escapement, a monometallic balance that's adjusted to 5 positions, and a shock absorber mechanism. It has a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a micrometer regulator. The Blancpain Villeret Split Second Chronograph 1185-1418-55 was introduced in the 1960's.
