Description
This 7016/0 Submariner "Snowflake" is a rare and historically significant Tudor diver's watch, introduced circa the early 1970s and instantly recognized by collectors for its distinctive square hour markers and "snowflake" hands. Housed in a robust 40 mm stainless steel case with thick, sharply beveled lugs, the design reflects the era's tool watch ethos and military pedigree. Powered by the ETA based automatic caliber 2483, this no-date variant represents one of the earliest Tudor Submariner models to adopt ETA movements, marking a pivotal shift in Tudor's technical evolution. The matte black dial framed by a rotating bezel with a black aluminum insert, offers exceptional legibility. Although this example is not officially issued, many examples of the 7016/0 found their way into service with the French Marine Nationale, enhancing the model's collector appeal and narrative. Its combination of military associations, unique design language make it a standout piece for Tudor enthusiasts seeking both historical depth and technical authenticity. Excellent Condition with European Watch Company pouch.
