This Vacheron Constantin Historiques 222 in stainless steel answers one of collecting's longest-standing wishes, reviving the reference that Jörg Hysek conceived for the Maison's 222nd anniversary and that stood as its first integrated-bracelet sports watch. Chosen as the inaugural release of the 270th anniversary year, it returns the "Jumbo" to steel for the first time in decades, a material the original wore only briefly and in scarce numbers. A self-winding Calibre 2455/2 drives the hours, minutes and date, now revealed through a sapphire caseback in place of the vintage solid back. The monobloc tonneau case measures 37mm across and just 7.9mm in thickness, slipping under a cuff with the ease that defined the model. The fluted bezel and Maltese cross at five o'clock frame a matte blue dial. Few modern reissues stay this faithful to the original.
