Each week, EWC will be gathering horological industry news, cultural conversations and moments surrounding our favorite topic: timepieces. Happy Friday; here’s what’s on our watch.
When in Paris

I spy with my horological eye some exciting news in the watch world this week. Jaeger-LeCoultre announced its fourth capsule collection of ten exceptional vintage timepieces: The Collectibles. This one-of-a-kind lineup is presented at the Maison’s Place Vendome boutique in Paris through July 27th with each of these exceptional museum quality pieces available for purchase.
Walk the Runway

Speaking of the City of Lights, patrons flocked to Paris Fashion Week showcasing men’s SS26 collections. Louis Vuitton was at it again, punctuating its couture with its watches. You might recall the Maison teased a potential comeback of its Monterey at Paris Fashion Week debuting its women’s FW collections earlier this year. This time, the powerhouse French brand highlighted its popular Tambour and Escale lines.
From the Court to the Track
We take you from the red carpets of award season to a different type of runway fit for collectors to strut their stuff. Yes, the tables have turned to sport — one of the watch industry’s tried and true partners in crime.

The NBA finals put some spectacular timepieces on display. I spy Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson courtside in Rolex Explorer I on a Chrome Hearts bracelet alongside rapper Lil Yachty in a vintage Patek Philippe Ellipse Skeleton. Indiana Pacers coach Rick Carlisle kept it cool at a press conference in a Tudor Pelagos while Oklahoma City’s Jalen Williams celebrated the team’s victory in a two-tone Rolex Submariner.

In addition, the highly anticipated F1 film finally hits theaters today after a slew of star-studded premieres around the globe. The screening in London proved particularly drool worthy for watch lovers with Damson Idris fittingly sporting a gold IWC Ingenieur Automatic 35. However, Rolex ultimately stole the show with Tom Cruise in a platinum Rolex Daytona, Samson Kayo in a yellow gold Rolex Day-Date, and Abdul Salis in a white gold Day-Date II.
High Five
Up top for new watches hitting the market this week!

Ming expands its 20.01 series of AgenGraphe powered chronographs. The collection has long served as a platform for new dial technologies, like the world’s first laser mosaic in sapphire and lume-filled fused borosilicate. The 20.01 S5 continues this tradition with what is likely the industry’s first dial with a complex radial pattern and interlocking surfaces in two planes, all laser milled from a single block of titanium.

Ulysse Nardin gets back to its Blast collection with the perfect Pride Month edition: the Blast [Sparkling Rainbow]. This audacious design draws on the Maison’s prowess in technical achievement as well as metiers d’art and rare hand craftsmanship.

Urwerk unveiled the latest addition to its ongoing “Time and Culture” series, blending mechanical excellence with historical storytelling. The new UR-100V Time and Culture III pays homage to the ziggurats of ancient Mesopotamia, echoing their bold architecture through Urwerk’s signature avant-garde design language. This piece unique is truly a collectible work of horological art.

Richard Mille hits the track in anticipation of the 12th edition of Le Mans Classic from July 3rd through 6th. For the occasion, the Maison has released a new limited edition of 150 timepieces, the RM 30-01 Le Mans Classic.

Yes, sport and watches continue to collide with Panerai’s two new Luminor timepieces, celebrating the brand’s enduring partnership with the Luna Rossa sailing team. The Luminor Chrono Flyback Luna Rossa PAM01654 and Luminor Luna Rossa PAM01653 come alongside the Maison’s renewal of its commitment as Official Sponsor ahead of the 38th America’s Cup in Naples. This edition marks a historic occasion as the competition will be sailed for the first time ever in Italy.
