IWC debuted the round case design Portuguese watches in 1939 to honor Portugal’s important seafaring explorers such as Vasco da Gama, Ferdinand Magellan, and Bartolomeu Dias. In 2003, they unveiled the IWC Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Chronograph 3750-03 with its distinctive hemispherical moon phase display.
