This Urwerk UR-102 Reloaded revives the watch with which the brand began, the UR-102 unveiled at Baselworld and the foundation on which Felix Baumgartner and Martin Frei built everything that followed. The Black version is limited to one hundred pieces, an unusual chance to hold the origin point of one of independent watchmaking's defining names. Its self-winding Calibre 2.02 drives the wandering hours that became Urwerk's signature, the hour satellite sweeping a semicircular track in place of a conventional central hand. The case is black PVD-coated titanium and steel, 41mm in diameter and 11.3mm thick, its faceted Sputnik-inspired lugs settling the pebble-form body cleanly on the wrist. The all-black display is relieved only by crisp white markings. Few modern pieces let a collector own a brand's very first idea, revisited by its own makers.
